Information Collection and Use

HFCU is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. HFCU collects information from our users at several different points on our website.

How To Join Page

Information collected on the “How to Join Page”, such as name and address, is used to send individuals and businesses information about joining the credit union. We do not use your information for any other purpose.

Home Banking Transactions

Hawaii FCU members can perform following transactions online:

  • Transfer funds to and from their accounts
  • Look up account histories for previous 6 months

Applying For a Loan Online

When you fill out information for the purpose of qualifying or pre-qualifying for a mortgage loan, that information is sent to a third party for the sole purpose of processing your information. We do not permit this third-party processor to sell the information nor use it in any other way other than the original intended purpose.

When you apply for a loan online other than a mortgage loan, your information is collected by loanliner.com whose sole purpose is data collection. We have contracted with loanliner.com to provide a convenient and secure means in which members and non-members may apply for a loan online. The information collected on loanliner.com is covered by this privacy statement. (For example, loanliner.com collects the following information: application name(s) and Social Security number(s), address, employment, references, etc.)

Sharing

We may disclose all the information we collect, such as your name and address, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. To protect our members’ privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information we provide. We do not permit these companies to sell the member information we provide to other third parties.

Marketing

Hawaii Federal Credit Union will send users mailings necessary to manage the users account such as member statements and occasional promotional materials. To opt-out of receiving promotional materials that do not accompany your statement, not communications necessary to maintain the users account, you may call us at 1-800-433-8698 or email us memberservice@hawaiifcu.org.

IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as a zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal data provided to us. Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice whether to agree or not to us using their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
